The better version of a door stop is the magnetic one. I was actually worried that it wouldn t hold open my heavy wood door but it did the job. The reason why i chose this was because i didn t want to risk dirtying my newly painted white door each time we kicked down the stopper. If you ve ever dealt with your doors slamming shut when you want to leave them open or slamming open and leaving a handle sized hole in your wall with a simple gusty breeze you ve probably decided to install a magnetic door stop.

The magnet in this door stop is very strong. Door stop and catch can be installed interchangeably either on the wall or door. I was deciding between installing a traditional kickdown door stopper or this magnetic one after several years of using an old school rubber door wedge. The magnet in this door stop is very strong.

Just make sure you install the wall anchors if your planning on installing the door stop on drywall.
